Founded in 1961, Luxair is a key player and major employer in the economy of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the surrounding region.
Initially, Luxair emerged from the restructuring of Luxembourg Airlines, founded in 1948.
In 1962, Luxembourg Airlines became Luxair and launched its first flight between Luxembourg and Paris using a Fokker F27 Friendship.
